Job summary

Chartwells K-12 in Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Food Unit Lead with prior management experience and a ServSafe Manager Certification. You will supervise food-service staff, manage inventories and ordering, and ensure safe, compliant operations in a fast-paced dining environment.

Typical shifts are 6:00 AM–2:00 PM or 6:30 AM–2:30 PM with variations; duties include training, scheduling, and maintaining sanitation standards while lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience and a ServSafe Manager Certification are required.
• Previous inventory and ordering experience is required.
• This position may require lifting upwards of fifty pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of other food-service employees to create an enjoyable dining experience.
• Oversees preparation and service of food and beverages according to standards.
• Ensures timely, efficient meal service and supervises serving of meals.
• Trains employees and assigns work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Manages schedules, reports, and cash handling as per policy.
• Orders food and supplies from approved sources.
