Job summary

Daley College seeks a Full Time Faculty member in Manufacturing (Tenure Track) to join the Advanced Manufacturing College to Careers program. The role requires delivering welding, CNC machining, and factory automation instruction aligned with industry standards.

You will design lessons, lead syllabus development, and model best practices in shop safety and quality. Chicago residency is required within six months, and the position is tenure-track with union representation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or related technical field and at least two industry credentials from recognized associations.
  • Strong commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and to student success.
  • Experience or ability to teach welding, factory automation, and/or CNC machining per industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Teach manufacturing technology skills including welding, factory automation and/or CNC machining; ensure instruction aligns with industry standards.
  • Model best practices in shop, emphasizing safety, quality assurance and process improvement.
  • Create lesson plans and projects to engage students in applied math and science for manufacturing.
  • Simulate real work experiences through project-based learning in classroom and shop settings.
  • Provide instruction addressing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles to help students earn industry certifications.
  • Lead syllabus development to deliver student learning outcomes (SLOs) with a clear learning map for students and instructors.
  • Lead PeopleSoft skill development for student administration access, including grade entry.

  • Provide instruction to address the 3 common learning styles:visual, auditory, and kinesthetic that result in industrycertifications.
  • Lead syllabus development to deliver student learningoutcomes (SLOs), providing a learning map for students to manageexpectations of both students and instructors.
  • Lead PeopleSoft skill development to provide self serviceaccess to student administration, including but not limited toentry of grades.
Qualifications - External
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, ManufacturingTechnology, Engineering or a related technical field and at leasttwo industry credentials from the American Welding Society, theManufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC), MANational InstituteMetalworking Skills (NIMS), the American Society of Quality (ASQ),the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the American Societyof Mechanical Engineers (ASME), IBEW journeyman or 8 years ofexperience in manufacturing, including experience in production orindustrial maintenance and at least 2 industry credentials from theabove mentioned professional associations.

Salary range: $58,000 - $65,000

  • Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education.

Please note: This position may require full teaching in-person, ashybrid schedules are not guaranteed. The starting salary for thisrole ranges from $58,000 to $65,000 annually. This is atenure-track position. This position is represented by the Local1600 CCCTU.

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within6 months of hire.
