Qualifications

• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and parts diagrams.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain authorization to operate assigned tactical and non-tactical military vehicles.

Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains heavy equipment to keep it safe and available for operation. This position works on systems such as diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical components, and powertrains.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services.

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems using manuals and diagnostic tools.

Repair or replace engines, transmissions, pumps, hoses, brakes, and other components.
