Primary Purpose
Support the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates.
- Daily management of labor (i.e., expected live) and coaching associates to achieve productivity expectations.
- Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Brand Strategy and Culture.
- Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
- Maintain a positive customer service environment focused on fast, friendly, and flexible service.
- Model outstanding customer service and utilize product knowledge to meet customer needs.
- Control store expenses through proper ordering and care for supplies and equipment.
- Utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, and business information systems.
- Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation are maintained.
- Create and manage HMS schedules to ensure excellent customer service.
- Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, and display of merchandise according to policies.
- Observe and correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and report accidents per procedures.
- Monitor inventory shrinkage and coach associates to prevent losses.
- Utilize advertising and sales promotion materials effectively.
- Maintain security standards and personal appearance guidelines.
- Complete required training courses and meet physical requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Understanding of store operations and merchandising preferred.
- Strong communication, customer service, and selling skills.
- Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
- Ability to solve problems using technical information.
- Minimum age requirements must be met.
- Certification as a Food Safety Manager or ability to attain it within 90 days.
Physical Requirements
- Proficiency with computers and communication systems.
- Ability to push/pull up to 2000 lbs with equipment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Handle cleaning and packaging substances safely.
- Work in extreme temperatures for limited durations.
- Visual ability to check documents and invoices.
