Support the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy. Maintain solid communication with the management team, all associates in the store, and throughout the organization.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates.
- Daily management of labor and coaching associates to achieve productivity expectations.
- Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Brand Strategy and Culture.
- Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
- Maintain a positive shopping environment with enthusiastic customer service, ensuring a fast, easy, friendly experience.
- Model outstanding customer service and use department product knowledge to offer solutions exceeding customer expectations.
- Control store expenses through proper ordering and care for supplies and equipment.
- Utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, and business information systems.
- Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation are maintained.
- Create and manage HMS schedules to ensure excellent customer service.
- Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, and display of merchandise according to policies.
- Monitor and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Record and report accidents and monitor inventory shrinkage, coaching staff accordingly.
- Utilize advertising and sales promotion materials appropriately.
- Maintain security standards and personal appearance in line with company policies.
- Complete required training courses and meet physical requirements of the role.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Understanding of store operations and merchandising preferred.
- Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
- Willingness to learn multiple job tasks and technical requirements.
- Ability to solve problems using technical information.
- Must meet minimum age requirements.
- Certified Food Safety Manager accreditation or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use computers and communication systems.
- Ability to push/pull up to 2000 lbs with a pallet jack.
- Lift weights up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
- Stand continuously and walk short distances.
- Handle cleaning and packaging substances.
- Work in extreme temperatures for periods.
- Visual ability to check documents.
