Job summary

Tyson Foods in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a general housekeeping associate to maintain offices, restrooms and common areas, and support facility cleanliness across production and office spaces.

The position starts at $19.95 per hour with a second shift increase and potential overtime. Candidates must be able to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for long periods, and work a rotating schedule in temperatures ranging from 20 to 50 degrees.

Qualifications

• Read and follow Safety Policies, GMP and cleaning labels.
• Basic math for chemical dilution.
• Stand/walk/bend/reach for 8–12 hours daily.
• Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Operate heavy vibrating buffer.
• Work in temperatures 20–50 degrees.
• Rotating work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning offices, restrooms, common areas, vacuuming, mopping, and buffing floors in all areas.
• Trash disposal in production areas.
• Clean outside areas in all weather conditions.
• Do laundry and assist in managing supplies.
• Sanitize all designated areas where team members congregate.
• Complete paperwork and submit daily.
• All other duties assigned by supervisor.
• All other duties as assigned by Tyson supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

• Cleaning offices, restrooms, common areas, Vacuuming, mopping, and buffing floors through the common areas


• Trash disposal, taken inside production areas


• Clean outside areas in all weather conditions


• Do laundry and assist in managing supplies


• Sanitize all designated areas where team members may congregate, break rooms, restrooms, locker rooms, hand wash stations, office areas


• Complete necessary paperwork and submit daily


• All other duties assigned


• All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Must be willing and able to read and understand Safety Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and cleaning supply labels, MSDS sheets.

Basic math skills are needed to calculate chemical dilution proportions for safe use.

Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling and reaching are required.

Must be willing and able to occasional assisted lifting of up to 30 lbs., push or pull 30lbs.

Must be willing and able to Operate heavy vibrating buffer.

Must be willing and able to work in temperatures ranging from 20 to 50 degrees and requires standing 8 to 12 hours per day.

Must be willing and able to work a rotating schedule.

To be considered for the position: Applicants must have at least nine (9) months of continuous work history with the same employer within the last twelve months to be considered for this position Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
