Job summary

Foster Poultry Farms is seeking a FSQA Technician to monitor, maintain, and improve quality control systems in our Alabama processing facilities. You will oversee QA representatives, coordinate with supervisors and production team members, and ensure compliance with USDA requirements to deliver safe, high-quality products.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Pass criminal background, drug screen, and E-verify.
• Must read and write English legibly.
• Must be detail oriented and proficient in mathematics.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate with all levels including management.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Decision making ability for flagging deviations from procedures.
• Able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for coworkers.
• Must pass forklift assessments to obtain forklift license.
• Must wear company PPE.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 1-3 years of experience in food processing; knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs and SSOPs preferred.
• Must be willing to rotate into various departments with varying QC duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining, monitoring, and enforcing USDA and Quality Assurance Programs.
• Interface with Production Supervisors and hourly Team Members on production and quality procedures.
• Work with USDA personnel on regulatory issues.
• Assist in maintaining the micro-hold product program.
• Make decisions on product disposition for nonconforming items.
• Provide leadership to QA technicians regarding procedures and quality.
• Maintain Quality Reporting Systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
