Job Summary

The Bell & Evans Food Safety and Quality Assurance Team is committed to developing world class programs, processes and people to support the Bell & Evans brand and mission. This FSQA Systems Specialist contributes to critical functions of the business by owning the internal label printing systems and product specification management. This position will also manage the corporate Approved Supplier Program. Additionally, the FSQA Systems Specialist supports the sales team and customer relations by fulfilling requirements through customer portals and direct customer requests. The successful candidate will engage professionally with internal and external business partners to provide timely and accurate information and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Independently manage internally and externally controlled non-preprinted labeling programs (Tavil, Paragon, Bizerba, Marel, Bartender) to create and update labels and ensure functionality
  • Provide time-sensitive support for non-preprinted labeling issues, including off‑hours responses to support 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed
  • Maintain product information databases that support accurate label content including weigh price lists and label template inventory
  • Manage existing Approved Supplier Program in SafetyChain and build interdepartmental consensus to expand the program to include new parts of business operations
  • Create and manage new non-preprinted label projects through Management of Change program
  • Manage customer portal requirements (e.g. Edge, TraceGains, …) ensuring timely, complete, and accurate information
  • Issue and manage Corrective Actions to suppliers and copackers for out of spec product
  • Create, review, and update internal product specifications through interdepartmental collaboration and collection of relevant information from stakeholders
  • Share product specifications and applicable documents with customers, as requested
  • Manage Label Approval and Specification Approval workflows, including coordinating with internal stakeholders to create and test print labels
  • Exercise discretionary judgment in pursuing outstanding documentation requests for the Approved Supplier Program and elevating non-responses
  • Engage with business partners and customers in a professional manner representative of Bell & Evans values
  • Provide support by developing a knowledge of the business to support or lead projects, support internal and external audits, and other duties as assigned
  • Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns
  • Actively participate in relevant company meetings
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry with working knowledge of USDA / FDA food regulations, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management, customer portal management, and/or document management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and improve corporate programs
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance and food safety standards
  • Ability to learn new software programs; trouble‑shoot and problem‑solve
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, or Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience with label printing software and hardware
  • Experience with SafetyChain modules
  • Experience with SmartSheet and Sharepoint
  • Experience with Approved Supplier Programs, Management of Change programs, Customer Complaint management
  • Experience in ERP systems (Business Central, SAP, etc.)
  • Experience with SQF, GFSI, HACCP
