Job summary

Alpha Executive Search seeks an experienced Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to lead the FSQA function at a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. You will oversee food safety, quality, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement programs while building and leading a strong FSQA team.

Qualifications include 10+ years in FSQA, USDA-FSIS manufacturing experience, HACCP/GFSI knowledge, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

• HACCP, PCQI, and/or GFSI certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 6–15 FSQA employees across multiple shifts
• Manage food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory programs
• Ensure compliance with USDA/FDA regulations, GFSI standards, and customer requirements
• Maintain HACCP and Food Safety Plans
• Lead USDA, customer, and third-party audits
• Monitor sanitation performance and drive improvements with Operations
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Investigate customer complaints and implement solutions
• Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support new products, equipment installations, plant trials, and commercialization
• Oversee microbiological and analytical testing
• Maintain plant-wide FSQA training programs
• Build a strong culture of food safety and continuous improvement

This position will oversee the plant’s food safety, quality, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement programs while developing and leading a strong FSQA team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of 6–15 FSQA employees across multiple shifts
• Manage food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory programs
• Ensure compliance with USDA/FDA regulations, GFSI standards, and customer requirements
• Maintain HACCP and Food Safety Plans
• Lead USDA, customer, and third-party audits
• Monitor sanitation performance and partner with Operations to drive improvements
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Investigate customer complaints and implement solutions
• Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support new products, equipment installations, plant trials, and commercialization
• Oversee microbiological and analytical testing
• Maintain plant-wide FSQA training programs

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of food safety/quality experience preferred
• USDA-FSIS regulated food manufacturing experience required
• Previous FSQA leadership experience
• Strong HACCP and GFSI knowledge
• FDA experience preferred
• HACCP, PCQI, and/or GFSI certifications preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
