WestRock Coffee is seeking an FSQA Digital Systems Specialist to design, develop, integrate, and support digital solutions for food safety, quality, and manufacturing operations. You will partner with FSQA, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to translate processes into scalable workflows and enterprise apps.

The role combines software development with manufacturing operations insight, maintaining existing solutions and supporting users as the digital systems team expands.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
  • 2–5 years developing, configuring, or supporting enterprise systems or digital apps.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java, or C# in real-world projects.
  • Experience with enterprise databases, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and support digital applications, workflows, automation, dashboards, and business logic for FSQA and manufacturing operations.
  • Translate regulatory and operations requirements into scalable digital solutions.
  • Develop and support integrations between QMS, MES, ERP, lab systems, and other platforms.
  • Assist in automation, data validation, APIs, and workflow logic to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Support intelligent digital solutions that automate business processes and enhance operational visibility.
  • Contribute to data-driven apps, reporting tools, and advanced analytics.
  • Maintain and enhance existing digital solutions; troubleshoot issues and optimize workflows.
  • Participate in digital transformation projects: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, training.

Job description

The FSQA Digital Systems Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting digital solutions that enhance food safety, quality, and manufacturing operations. This role partners with FSQA, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to translate business processes into scalable digital workflows, automation, and enterprise applications that improve compliance, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate combines technical software and systems development skills with an understanding of manufacturing operations and enterprise business systems. While development is the primary focus of this role, the position also shares responsibility for maintaining existing digital solutions and supporting users as the FSQA Digital Systems team continues to expand.

Job Duties:
  • Design, develop, configure, and support digital applications, workflows, automation, dashboards, and business logic that improve FSQA and manufacturing operations.
  • Translate operational and regulatory requirements into scalable digital solutions while supporting the organization's digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and support integrations between Quality Management Systems (QMS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), laboratory systems, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Assist in developing automation, data validation routines, APIs, and workflow logic that improve process efficiency, system connectivity, and data accuracy.
  • Application Development & Analytics
  • Support the development of intelligent digital solutions that automate business processes, evaluate quality records, improve compliance verification, and enhance operational visibility.
  • Contribute to data-driven applications, reporting tools, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies that improve decision-making across the organization.
  • System Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain and enhance existing digital solutions by troubleshooting issues, implementing enhancements, optimizing workflows, and providing technical support to end users.
  • Identify opportunities to improve usability, increase automation, simplify business processes, and ensure long-term system stability.
  • Project Implementation
  • Participate in digital transformation projects through requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, training, and post-deployment support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver technical solutions that meet business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2--5 years of experience developing, configuring, or supporting enterprise business systems, digital applications, or manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience with software development, scripting, workflow automation, or business application development using languages such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java, C#, or similar.
  • Experience working with enterprise databases, APIs, system integrations, or data pipelines.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects and priorities in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in food manufacturing or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience with workflow automation, enterprise analytics, AI-assisted business processes, or intelligent document processing.
  • Experience implementing or supporting enterprise software solutions across multiple business locations.
