Job summary

Schwan's is hiring for a full-time QA role in a food manufacturing setting. The position emphasizes HACCP and GMP compliance, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and safety.

You will prepare quality reports, manage product releases from QA hold in SAP, and participate in investigations and audits to uphold regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• HACCP knowledge is preferred and applies to plant operations.
• Able to learn and operate standard laboratory equipment and document daily data.
• Regulatory compliance checks and corrective actions to maintain quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HACCP and GMP adherence daily and report issues to management.
• Prepare and analyze quality reports and process product releases from QA hold.
• Verify formulas and procedures meet regulatory standards and initiate actions as needed.
• Collaborate with Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory and Product Development for testing.
• Conduct investigations, perform audits, and deliver GMP/food safety training.

Starting Pay: $20.50 per hour

Additional $1.50 shift differential from 6 p.m. -- 6 a.m.

Shift: 2nd Shift

Hours: Thursday - Friday: 7PM - 5AM, Saturday - Sunday: 5PM - 5AM. (Mon, Tue, Wed Off)

What You Will Do:

• Monitor and ensure daily adherence to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), promptly reporting any deviations or issues to management.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain quality reports and documentation, including specification notices, trend analyses, and SAP transaction processing for product release from QA hold.
• Verify regulatory compliance of manufacturing formulas and procedures, initiating corrective actions as needed to maintain product quality and safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory, and Product Development to obtain samples and information for comprehensive product testing.
• Conduct investigations into food safety incidents, perform formulation audits, and deliver GMP and food safety training to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 1 year of experience.
• Demonstrate knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) as it applies to specific plant operations (HACCP certification preferred).
• Work in a variety of temperatures.
• Learn and operate standard laboratory equipment and keep accurate documentation of daily information.
