Job summary

Gehl Food & Beverage is seeking a FSQ Lab Manufacturing Technician for the 3rd shift in Germantown, WI. The role entails executing QA routines across all manufacturing processes, performing testing on raw materials and finished products, and ensuring sanitation and allergen controls.

Responsibilities include sampling, release of ingredients, verifying records, and supporting root cause analysis. Requires HACCP training, a QA background in food/beverage, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to document, describe and interpret records and documented specifications.
• Experience in QA within food or beverage manufacturing is required.
• Must be trained in HACCP.
• Strong communication, written and verbal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Execute Quality Monitoring Scheme routines across all manufacturing processes: batching, processing, filling and packaging.
• Perform physical and chemical testing of raw batches, finished products and other testing per Quality Monitoring Scheme.
• Coordinate sampling, testing and release of bulk and refrigerated ingredients.
• Complete pre-operation routines including sanitation approval for equipment and environment; ensure compliance with change-over requirements.
• Carry out CIP validation and allergen testing; coordinate sample collection and storage during manufacturing.

Monday - Friday 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM with weekend work as needed.

Pay

Base + Shift differential = $24.10/hour (+ based on experience)

What You’ll Do:

• Execute Quality Monitoring Scheme routines across all manufacturing processes, including batching, processing, filling and packaging.
• Execute physical and chemical testing of raw batches, finished products and any other testing as defined by the Quality Monitoring Scheme.
• Execute sampling, testing and release of bulk and refrigerated ingredients.
• Execute pre-operation routines, which includes sanitation approval for equipment and environment, and compliance against product change-over requirements.
• Execute CIP validation and allergen testing.
• Coordinate collection and storage of finished product samples during manufacturing operation.
• Execute hold routines including creating events for nonconforming ingredients, packaging material, raw batches and finished products.
• Execute verification and validation routines for sanitation and allergen controls.
• Execute review and approval of food safety and quality records created throughout shift.
• Coordinate verification and calibration routines for inline and in-process equipment, i.e. X-Ray, Metal Detectors, in-line filters, etc.
• Execute verification routines for pre-requisite records and Programs.
• Provide contribution towards root cause analysis and customer complaint investigations. Provide contribution towards maintenance and improvement of FSQ documentation practices.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness and housekeeping of FSQ Lab area.
• Other duties, as assigned by management.

Requirements

What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally.
• Ability to document, describe and interpret records and documented specifications.
• Ability to enforce company procedures and policies.
• Ability to document inspection findings legibly and with accuracy.
• BSc in Food Science, Food Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a QA function within food or beverage manufacturing industry.
• Work experience and trained in HACCP.
