Methodist Converse Free Standing ER in San Antonio, TX is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to nursing standards while supporting ongoing education and career growth opportunities.

As an ER RN, you will assess and treat patients, document care, collaborate with providers, educate families, and participate in mentorship programs offered by Methodist.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse with Texas license or Multi-State Compact license
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course or PALS within 90 days of start date
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure
• Minimum of six months of clinical nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management with reassessments
• Perform procedures and monitor patients; document care in medical records
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs
• Teach patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures for health and prevention

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program
• Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi‑State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date)
