Responsibilities

Essential (Primary) Functions: The primary responsibility of the Cook is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Responsibilities include following recipes and production sheets for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments. Food preparation involves operating various kitchen equipment to measure and weigh ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use. The Cook may also taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, assess production needs, and requisition supplies and equipment. Additional duties include preparing baked items, moving/lifting food supplies, and preparing meals for customers with special diets. The Cook is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment and must adhere to all safety and food handling regulations of UFHCF, local, state, and federal jurisdictions.

Non-essential duties may include filling in for other positions within the department and other duties assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or Manager. This is a full-time position with variable shifts, including weekends, and offers a sign-on bonus.


Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Experience as a cook in a general restaurant is highly preferred.
