UF Health Leesburg Hospital is seeking a skilled Cook to deliver high-quality service in food preparation for patients and customers. Essential (Primary) Functions: The Cook's primary responsibility is to deliver high-quality service to customers consistently. Responsibilities include following recipes and production sheets to prepare, season, cook, taste, carve, and serve soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items for consumption in eating establishments. The role involves operating various kitchen equipment to measure and weigh ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and preparing meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use. The Cook may also taste products, read menus, estimate food and production requirements, requisition supplies and equipment, prepare baked goods, move and lift food supplies, and prepare meals for customers with special dietary needs. Additionally, the Cook is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work stations and equipment, and must understand and comply with all safety and food handling regulations of UFHCF, as well as local, state, and federal authorities.
Non-Essential Duties: May include filling in for other positions within the department and other duties assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or Manager. This position is PRN with variable shifts.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Previous experience as a Cook in a general restaurant setting is highly preferred.
