Overview

Since opening over 60 years ago, UF Health Leesburg Hospital has established itself as a leading medical center and the most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in the region. It has received recognition from the American College of Cardiology for its expertise in treating patients with chest pain, earning a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI and Resuscitation, its highest level of accreditation. The hospital also provides world-class orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery, emergency care, stroke treatment, labor & delivery, and more.


Responsibilities

Essential (Primary) Functions: The Cook's primary responsibility is to deliver high-quality service to customers consistently. Responsibilities include following recipes and production sheets to prepare, season, cook, taste, carve, and serve soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items for consumption in eating establishments. The role involves operating various kitchen equipment to measure and weigh ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and preparing meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use. The Cook may also taste products, read menus, estimate food and production requirements, requisition supplies and equipment, prepare baked goods, move and lift food supplies, and prepare meals for customers with special dietary needs. Additionally, the Cook is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work stations and equipment, and must understand and comply with all safety and food handling regulations of UFHCF, as well as local, state, and federal authorities.

Non-Essential Duties: May include filling in for other positions within the department and other duties assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or Manager. This position is PRN with variable shifts.


Qualifications
