Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking friendly, service-oriented Fruteria Clerks to support fresh-cut fruit operations. You will prepare, package, and label fruit, stock displays, and maintain cleanliness while upholding high food-safety standards.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of fruit handling, cutting, and food safety.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Prior grocery or food retail experience is a plus, but on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and label fresh-cut fruit according to guidelines.
• Record inventory and production accurately, including inter-department transfers.
• Stock and rotate displays to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Monitor proper food storage temperatures and follow health department regulations.
• Keep tools and workstations clean and sanitized.
• Follow production schedules set by the Fruteria Lead or Produce Manager.
• Greet and assist customers with fruit selections and custom-cut items.
• Promote sales with suggestive selling while providing extraordinary service.

About the Role

TheFruteriaClerk supports the day-to-day operations of theFruteria(cut fruit) department by preparing fresh-cut fruit, stocking displays,maintainingcleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. This role is essential to creating a fresh, welcoming environment for customers while modeling Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.

WhatYou’llDo

• Prepare, package, and label fresh-cut fruit according to Vallarta’s Production Tool guidelines.
• Accurately record inventory and production, includinginter-departmentaltransfers.
• Stock, rotate, andmaintainfruit displays to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Monitor proper food storage temperatures and follow Health Department regulations.
• KeepFruteriatools, equipment, and workstations clean and sanitized.
• Follow production schedules set by theFruteriaLead or Produce Manager.
• Greetandassistcustomers with fresh fruit selections and custom cut-fruit items.
• Promote sales using suggestive selling techniques while ensuring extraordinary service.
• Build andmaintainvisually appealing displays with proper signage and pricing.
• Communicate supply needs (packaging, utensils, etc.) to the lead or manager.
• Support fellow team members and attend meetings/training as scheduled.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation policies; ensure safe and clean work areas.
• Abide by Vallarta’s company policies and uphold the Nuestra CASA pledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk forlong periods(6–8 hours/day).
• Frequently bend, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
• Use handsfrequentlyfor grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.frequentlyand up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to perishable products.
