Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a Produce Clerk to ensure displays are stocked, clean, and presentable. You will trim and rotate products to maintain freshness and assist customers with their needs in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll follow Vallarta’s safety standards, handle produce carefully, and collaborate with team members to support department goals. Flexible scheduling and strong customer service are valued.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Smile, greet, and assist customers courteously.
• Merchandising: Stock, trim, rotate, and replenish produce items for freshness.
• Operations: Load, transport, and organize produce merchandise.
• Product Handling: Handle produce to prevent waste and damage; report quality issues.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow health regulations and safety program guidelines.
• Sanitation: Clean displays and equipment; keep areas tidy.

About the Role

The Produce Clerk ensures produce displays and shelving are well stocked, clean, organized, and presentable. This role trims and rotates products tomaintainfreshness and quality,assistscustomers with their needs, and supports department operations,all while following Vallarta’shigh standardsof food safety and customer service.

WhatYou’llDo

• Customer Service: Smile, greet, andassistcustomers courteously.


• Merchandising: Stock, trim, rotate, and replenish produce items to ensure freshness and quality.


• Operations: Load, transport, andorganize producemerchandise from coolers, storage, wet rack, and sales floor.


• Product Handling: Handleproduceitems carefully to prevent waste and damage;reportpoor qualityimmediately.


• Compliance & Safety: Follow company and health regulations; promote Vallarta’s Safety Program and report unsafe acts or conditions.


• Sanitation: Clean produce displays, equipment, and supplies; sweep and mop floors.


• Teamwork:Assistcoworkers, support merchandising plans approved by management, and communicate with supervisors.


• Other Duties: Performadditionaltasks asassigned to support department goals.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk forlong periods(6–8 hours/day).


• Frequently bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach above/below shoulders.


• Frequent use of hands for simple andpowergrasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.


• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.frequentlyand up to 50 lbs. occasionally (e.g., potatoes, beans).


• Heaviest item carried: 50 lbs.; longest distance: 5 feet.


• Operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other moving equipment safely.


• Work near equipment and machinery; may walk on uneven ground.


• Exposure todust, gas, fumes, and noise.
