Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking team Members for the Produce department in Wayne, NJ. You will perform processing and merchandising duties, ensuring a positive store image with courteous, friendly service and adherence to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities include cutting and preparing fruits/vegetables, maintaining quality, managing sampling, and supporting sales through proper stocking and pricing. Prior retail experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of products in the department.
• Capable of accessing information about market conditions and communicating it to customers.
• Understanding spoilage and waste and how it affects department profits.
• Working knowledge and application of merchandising standards within the department.

Responsibilities

• Cuts fruits and vegetables following safety rules.
• Ensures product meets WFM quality guidelines.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Cleans department and logs sweep logs.
• Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; attends trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling.
• Prepares, stores, rotates, stocks, and merchandises products to maximize sales.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Keeps a clean, sanitary working/shopping environment and maintains equipment cleanliness.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; checks signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards promptly.
• Performs other duties assigned by leadership.
