Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. in Iowa is seeking a Frozen Foods Clerk to provide prompt, friendly service in the Frozen Foods department. You will greet customers, help them find products, rotate stock, monitor case temperatures, and ensure shelves are neatly labeled and maintained.

Qualifications

• Must be able to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
• Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Must have the ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; guide people.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Learns customers’ names and addresses them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing related tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call, including taking orders.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Rotates and replenishes merchandise and ensures highest quality standards are met.
• Ensures cleanliness in the department, cleans cases, sweeps floors, and maintains neat displays.
• Unloads trucks, checks in product, puts product away, and may review invoices.
• Maintains organized storage area, ensures floor is non-slip, and keeps temperature constant and correct.
• Adheres to policies and guidelines; reports to work on schedule.
