Job summary

Reading Hospital in Reading, PA seeks a compassionate Patient Care Assistant to provide nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with daily living activities, keep patient areas clean, and help with call lights and family orientation.

You will document care interactions in electronic medical records, support patient safety, and collaborate with the nursing team to maintain efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
• High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
• Direct patient care experience preferred, but not required for employment.
• BLS Certification is required; PA Nurse Aide Certification may be required for TSU unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living in a hospital setting.
• Light housekeeping in patient rooms and related areas.
• Assist with call lights and orient patient families/visitors.
• Maintain electronic medical records and document care interactions.
• Review and discuss patient care plans with the RN.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and manage room availability.
