Job summary

Visionworks is seeking an Optometric Assistant to be the face of our Exam Practice, guiding patients through the eye care experience with warmth and expertise. You will support preliminary testing, share crucial patient information with the OD, and help transition patients from the exam to the sales floor while educating staff on eye care products and services.

The role emphasizes patient experience, clear communication, and teamwork in a busy retail eye care setting.

Qualifications

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducing preliminary testing
• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information
• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates necessary information to educate and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs
