Osceola Library System in Kissimmee, Florida, seeks a Library Associate for front-line customer service at the library. The LA assists patrons at service points, stacks, and during programs, helping with technology questions and fostering a love of reading in a diverse community.

The role requires a friendly, proactive team player who works with minimal supervision and enjoys helping people. This position is part-time, with a 20-hour work week and a flexible schedule including day, evening, and

Qualificações

• HS or GED required.
• Two years library experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of library systems and databases preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills; comfortable with technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
• Flexible schedule including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Responsabilidades

• Provides excellent customer service.
• Assists patrons with all Library transactions including cash handling, check-in/out items, transferring materials, issuing library cards, collecting fees, promoting reading and learning.
• Provides instruction in using the Library and its services; connects patrons to services and resources.
• Supports Library programs and events via promotional, marketing and outreach efforts.
• Shelves materials and maintains a tidy collection.
• Addresses or escalates patron conduct or safety issues to management.
• Follows policies related to patron privacy and custodianship of records.
• Other duties as assigned.
