Job summary

UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department. Rotating evenings/nights 12-hour shifts (11a-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a) to support patient care and ED operations.

Previous patient care experience is strongly preferred. The role involves assisting with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, blood draws, specimen collection, and communicating changes to the RN. Title and salary will be determined by education and experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care settings preferred.
• Knowledge of activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Familiarity with phlebotomy and specimen collection is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Support physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies; report changes to RN.
• Perform blood glucose tests, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, and Foley care.
• Communicate clearly with the healthcare team; maintain safety and documentation.
