Job summary

VetJobs is seeking an EMT to respond to emergency calls at the Bell County Jail in Belton, TX. The role includes assessing patients, obtaining medical history, and providing on-site and transport care to the hospital.

The position requires active EMT-Basic and CPR certifications, a High School/GED, and at least 1 year of related experience. EHR experience and correctional work are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required.
• 1 year minimum of related experience.
• Active EMT-Basic certification required.
• Active CPR certification required.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.
• Experience in a dynamic health facility under supervision of nurses preferred.
• Correctional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: serve patients in the health facility under physician direction within EMT scope.
• Emergency Response: provide emergent, urgent, and routine medical response and BLS.
• Patient Assessments: evaluate medical history, medications, and current treatment.
• Clinical Activity Documentation: record conditions, treatment and medication history clearly.
• Medication Administration: administer prescribed treatments ordered by the provider.
• Provides Clinical Assistance: support physicians during procedures and treatment protocols.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
