Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent.
• Experience with safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Knowledge of freight transportation processes and loading techniques.
• Ability to use freight forms like shipping orders and manifests.
• Capability to monitor shipment locations with the yard management system.
• Availability to work to meet customer pickup/delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack or manually following DOT guidelines.
• Apply loading techniques including tight loading and cross loading.
• Move between service center areas and monitor freight movement on non-forgiving surfaces.
• Use Dock Yard Management System to track shipment locations.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and related forms.
• Hand load, rewrap, or stack freight as needed.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Ensure quality loading of all trailers and maintain safety standards.
