Job summary

Granica is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to be the technical bridge between customers and our internal teams. You will work directly inside complex enterprise data environments to understand workloads, diagnose performance and cost issues, deploy Granica, and deliver clear customer recommendations.

This role is highly hands-on, requiring comfort from customer conversations to Spark debugging, SQL analysis, and executive-level explanations of tradeoffs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Forward Deployed Engineering, Data Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.
• Strong hands-on Apache Spark experience, including production workloads and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with lakehouse technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Parquet, Hive.
• Ability to reason about infrastructure economics including storage and compute tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with enterprise data, infrastructure, and AI teams.
• Deploy and configure Granica in complex customer environments.
• Investigate performance, reliability, storage, and compute-cost problems across large data platforms.
• Debug and optimize Spark workloads and related distributed-data systems.
• Present findings and business value to engineers, architects, and executives.
• Translate recurring customer problems into Product and Engineering priorities.
