Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking a Countermeasures Engineer to design and deploy advanced cyber defenses for DoD networks. You will develop custom countermeasures, malware detection capabilities, and scalable automation solutions within a DevSecOps framework.

The role emphasizes threat intelligence, continuous improvement, and collaboration with DISA and mission partners to strengthen national cyber defense.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top-Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field with 8+ years hands-on experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification; CSSP-A required within 180 days.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language: Python, Java, Ruby, or C++.
• Experience developing custom malware detection capabilities.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, ports, and traffic flow analysis.
• UNIX/Linux administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy innovative, custom countermeasures to neutralize advanced threats on DoD networks.
• Develop malware detection capabilities tailored to emerging threat actor techniques.
• Architect and build automated cybersecurity solutions at enterprise scale.
• Serve as SME for the automation team and mentor others on DevSecOps practices.
• Identify vulnerabilities and threat actor TTPs and translate them into actionable defenses.
