Job summary

Customs and Border Protection is recruiting a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) to enforce immigration, customs, and agricultural laws at US borders. The GS-5/7/9 positions offer entry and mid-level opportunities with strong benefits and career stability.

Selected officers may receive incentives, training at the FLETC, and opportunities across duty locations including Texas. A commitment to public safety and integrity is required for this federal law enforcement role.

Qualifications

• GS-5/GS-7/GS-9 grade eligibility based on experience or education.
• Education substitution: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture law and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and contraband.
