Qualifications

• GS-5: 3 years general experience, 1 year at GS-4.
• Education substitution: bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full 4-year course.
• Combination of experience and education calculated from resume and transcripts.
• GS-7: 1 year specialized experience with inspections, observations, and determinations.
• Education substitution: bachelor's with SAA or 1 year graduate level education.
• Combination of experience and education for GS-7 and above.
• GS-9: 1 year specialized experience including detention, enforcement of import/export laws, and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture regulations.
• Ensuring flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of persons and conveyances.
• Determining admissibility for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of contraband.
