Job summary

Prime Intellect, Inc. is seeking research engineers and scientists to develop algorithms and systems for training open models with reinforcement learning.

You will focus on RL methods, scaling experiments, and training frameworks across frontier AI research, with opportunities to influence production-ready toolchains. Qualifications

• Depth in RL algorithms, empirical research on model training, or distributed ML systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with PyTorch or a comparable ML framework.
• Ability to design controlled experiments, interpret results, and debug unexpected model or system behavior.
• Experience taking a research idea or systems change through implementation, testing, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test RL methods for reasoning, coding, and long-horizon tasks.
• Design experiments to understand how RL performance scales with model size and compute.
• Extend RL frameworks to support new algorithms, models, and asynchronous training workflows.
• Build diagnostics to reproduce unstable runs and distinguish algorithm problems from runtime issues.
