Job summary

Frontier Airlines is seeking a Supervisor to oversee line maintenance operations and supervise maintenance staff at Richmond. You will monitor SMS activities, coordinate safety programs, and drive adherence to safety and quality standards in daily aircraft support.

The role requires FAA‑certified mechanics with A&P ratings, at least three years in line maintenance, and prior supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s degree is required for this leadership position, with a strong focus on safety,

Qualifications

• FAA-certified mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Minimum of three years of prior line maintenance experience.
• Prior supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee line maintenance operations and supervise line maintenance employees.
• Manipulate, monitor and coordinate Safety Management System (SMS) activities.
• Coordinate the development, implementation, protection, and integration of the SMS.
• Identify risks and safety opportunity tests, conduct exchange control.
• Ensure effectiveness of safety hazard controls.
• Promote safety and advocate responsible government oversight of SMS performance.
• Hold liability for accomplishing safety overall performance relative to task obligations.
• Manage hazard acceptance levels using Frontier’s corporate risk matrix.
• Take action to remove inoperative equipment from use and plan restoration or replacement.
• Monitor maintenance metrics to ensure performance levels meet high‑quality and safety standards.
• Determine painting priorities during each shift.
• Supervise maintenance performed by Frontier maintenance employees on company aircraft as well as on leased aircraft.
• Provide timely and accurate data on aircraft status.
• Determine activity requirements, monitor personnel productivity, safety behavior and workmanship.
• Evaluate and examine overall maintenance performance and administer corrective actions.
• Assist in formulating departmental policy and developing and administering company and departmental metrics and performance commitments.
• Help with monthly/quarterly life‑cycle audits at maintenance stations as applicable.
• Ensure all equipment and systems are maintained at a safety level that meets national Bureau of Standards requirements and/or manufacturer specifications.
• Investigate misplaced and deteriorated equipment and complete associated reports.
• Perform PC and administrative duties as assigned.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and communicate them to the control center.
• Ensure adherence to airport and aircraft safety policies and file violations to management.
• Conduct shift turnover as required in accordance with GMM 10.09.
• Audit final aircraft data (e.g., logbook pages, work cards, non‑workouts, engineering documents) generated with RON and line maintenance.
• Make FMIS entries as required.
• Ensure that department personnel are properly trained, qualified, and current to perform assigned tasks.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Observe posted work procedures and ensure proper deviations are authorized.
