Job summary

Frontier Airlines, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor — Line Maintenance for our Cleveland, OH station.

You’ll provide shift-level oversight for aircraft maintenance activities, set priorities, direct the work of maintenance personnel and coordinate with Maintenance Control, Planning and other teams to keep operations safe and on schedule. This full-time role requires an FAA-certificated Mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings, and several years of line maintenance and leadership experience.

Lead the shift that keeps aircraft moving safely
As a Supervisor — Line Maintenance, you’ll provide shift-level oversight for aircraft maintenance activity at your assigned Frontier maintenance station.

You’ll set maintenance priorities, direct the work of maintenance personnel, monitor aircraft status and coordinate across Maintenance Control, Planning and other operational teams to help ensure work is completed safely, accurately and on schedule.

What you’ll lead
Keep maintenance safe, compliant and on schedule
  • Set work priorities for the shift and monitor maintenance activity to support safe, high-quality aircraft operations.
  • Supervise maintenance performed by Frontier maintenance personnel on company and contract aircraft.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on aircraft status.
  • Ensure maintenance activity follows Frontier maintenance manuals, approved procedures, company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform required shift turnover in accordance with GMM 10.09.
  • Take action to remove inoperative equipment from service, ensure proper tagging and initiate repair or replacement.
  • Ensure airport and aircraft security requirements are followed and report actual or potential violations as required.
  • Follow approved published procedures at all times unless an authorized deviation has been issued.
Direct people, priorities and performance
  • Lead and motivate maintenance personnel in a professional and positive manner.
  • Plan, organize and direct workloads across assigned maintenance personnel.
  • Establish job standards and monitor productivity, safety practices and workmanship.
  • Review and evaluate maintenance performance and administer corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure department personnel, including yourself, remain properly trained, qualified and current to perform assigned tasks.
  • Support departmental policies, budgets and performance commitments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance operations and communicate recommendations to management.
Protect the accuracy of maintenance records
  • Monitor aircraft records completed during RON and line maintenance, including logbook pages, work cards, non-routines and applicable engineering documents.
  • Audit completed maintenance records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure required work documents and records are completed accurately.
  • Make FMIS entries as required.
Keep tools, equipment and resources ready
  • Ensure maintenance tools and equipment meet applicable safety requirements and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct lost and found tool investigations and complete required reports.
  • Support monthly and quarterly shelf-life audits at maintenance stations, as applicable.
  • Perform assigned computer and administrative functions.
Support Frontier’s Safety Management System
  • Manage, monitor and coordinate assigned SMS activities.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance and integration of SMS throughout Frontier.
  • Identify hazards and participate in safety risk assessments, including change management.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of safety risk controls.
  • Promote safety throughout maintenance operations.
  • Advise the accountable executive on SMS performance and opportunities for improvement as directed.
  • Maintain accountability for safety performance related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Manage risk to an acceptable level of green or lower, as defined by Frontier’s company risk matrix.
What you’ll bring
Required qualifications
  • FAA-certificated Mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Three years of previous line maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, workforce-direction or other leadership experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a demanding operational environment.
  • Ability to communicate calmly, clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to lead and motivate maintenance personnel.
  • General computer and administrative skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct workloads across assigned maintenance personnel.
What to expect

Line maintenance operates around the needs of the airline, so schedules may vary.

This role includes:
  • A varying work schedule, including an expectation of at least one week of graveyard shift per month.
  • The potential to work more than 40 hours per week.
  • Elevated noise levels.
  • Use of maintenance equipment and tooling.
  • Generally limited physical effort.
