Job summary

The World Economic Forum, via the Centre for AI Excellence (CAIE), is seeking a Lead for the Frontier AI Systems & Capabilities workstream. You will shape how frontier AI is understood, translated into real-world deployment, and guided by safeguards and governance standards.

Based in San Francisco, you will engage senior stakeholders and coordinate global experts. You will oversee strategy, risk analysis, and partnerships with governments, industry, and research institutions to advance

Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master’s) in AI, Systems Engineering, CS, Business, or Technology Governance.
7+ years experience on frontier AI capabilities, system architecture, AI safety, or governance with real-world deployment.
Demonstrated fluency in contemporary AI systems and deployment infrastructure.
Proven ability to analyse emergent system-level risk across models, agents, tools, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve strategic direction for the Frontier AI workstream.
Lead horizon scanning across frontier models and system architectures.
Develop system foresight analyses identifying emergent behaviours and risk points.
Analyse model-to-system translation and coordination across agents, tools, and environments.
Convene labs, standards bodies, safety institutes, and policymakers to set shared reference points.
Oversee workstream delivery, planning, resourcing, and stakeholder engagement.
