Job summary

Snorkel AI, a frontier AI data lab, seeks an ML engineer to scale production ML and ML/Data engineering efforts. You will study frontier-grade data generation, validate hypotheses against real production data, and ship winning approaches at scale.

You will help shape ML engineering standards, build efficient eval pipelines, and drive productionization of research prototypes within Snorkel AI’s expanding team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production ML or software systems with end-to-end ownership.
• Hands-on experience running LLM/ML workloads in production.
• Strong grounding in statistics, experimentation, hypothesis testing and confidence intervals.
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals (testing, code review, system design).
• Experience designing evaluations and interpreting results rigorously.
• Ability to identify high-impact problems early and communicate with researchers, engineers, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient agentic evals to cut costs and improve accuracy.
• Route evaluation calls to cheapest models that meet quality bar with cost tracking.
• Fine-tune and serve open-weight models (LoRA, etc.) where advantageous.
• Build models predicting task difficulty before rollouts.
• Create golden datasets and quantify accuracy/calibration of judge systems.
• Turn research prototypes into reusable, production-ready components.
