Job summary

Snorkel is hiring a Senior | Staff Software Engineer to advance frontier AI data and production ML systems. You will study how data is generated and evaluated, form hypotheses, validate them with production data, and ship scalable, reliable components for researchers and engineers.

You will lead efforts in efficient evals, model routing, and serving open-weight models, while shaping the direction of ML engineering at Snorkel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production ML or software systems with end-to-end ownership.
• Hands-on experience running LLM or ML workloads in production.
• Deep grounding in statistics, experimentation, sampling, and hypothesis testing.
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals, including testing and design.
• Experience designing evaluations and interpreting results rigorously.

Responsibilities

• Build efficient evals for frontier AI data and models.
• Route evals to cheapest models while maintaining quality.
• Fine-tune small models and deploy open-weight models where appropriate.
• Develop predictive difficulty metrics before running rollouts.
• Create golden datasets and ensure reproducibility across projects.
• Turn research prototypes into reusable, production-ready components.
