Job summary

SearchApi is seeking a builder-designer hybrid who fuses premium design with production-ready frontend. You’ll design in Figma and ship in Hotwire, owning the dashboard, API playgrounds, docs, and marketing UI.

You’ll work on a server-rendered stack (Rails + Hotwire) with Tailwind and ViewComponent, creating data-dense, elegant interfaces for developers. This is a fully remote, equity-earning role in a bootstrapped company.

Qualifications

• Must have production frontend you designed and built yourself.
• Strong with a server-rendered, component-based stack (Rails + Hotwire).
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship features from Figma to merged PR with ViewComponents, Stimulus, and Tailwind.
• Own the dashboard: analytics, usage history, billing, API keys; keep it data-dense yet calm.
• Build interactive API playgrounds showing real requests and live JSON outputs.
• Maintain the docs and marketing experience to keep the component system coherent and fast.
• Create honest data viz with a semantic color system and well-scoped charts.
• Push Hotwire to its limits; trim JavaScript and CSS bloat where possible.
• Take end-to-end ownership from design to production.
