Plane Software, Inc. is seeking a frontend engineer to own user-facing surfaces in a local-first, offline-capable web client. You will collaborate with designers and backend engineers across San Francisco and Hyderabad to build fast, accessible interfaces.

You will work in a shared component library, ensure robust state handling, and implement offline support using Service Workers and IndexedDB. Strong React/TypeScript skills and CSS with intention are essential.

Qualifications

• Shipped React and TypeScript to production.
• Reason about state: local vs global and reactivity across the app.
• Write CSS with intent using Tailwind or similar systems.
• Worked inside a shared component library to ensure consistency.

Responsibilities

• Own user-facing surfaces from design review through component work to rollout.
• Extend local-first sync and collaborative editing layer with engineers.
• Keep dense views fast using virtualization and memoization.
• Make Plane usable offline and on slow networks with Service Workers and IndexedDB.
• Collaborate daily with designers and backend engineers across San Francisco and Hyderabad.
• Chase visual and behavioral bugs across browsers and screen sizes.
