Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to join the Global Own frontend team. You will design scalable UI architecture, build ecommerce front-ends, and ensure performance and accessibility across 60+ markets on Google Cloud.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver secure, high-quality code, using Next.js, React, and AEM stack, with hybrid work expectations and a strong focus on modern engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on React/Next.js experience.
• Experience with micro frontends and SSR/CSR/SSG.
• Strong testing expertise (unit/integration) with Jest or equivalent.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and DOM APIs.
• Knowledge of performance optimization and Core Web Vitals.
• Understanding of security best practices in frontend apps (OWASP, XSS, CSRF).
• Experience with design systems and reusable components.
• Familiarity with monorepos and tooling (Turborepo, Nx).
• Experience with headless CMS and cloud-based deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver front-end UI architecture for micro frontends with high performance and accessibility.
• Develop modules for eCommerce products and reusable UI components.
• Apply modern software practices (BDD, CI/CD, 12-factor apps) to integration with Ford systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and back-end engineers to align with product vision.
• Leverage AI tools (Ford LLM, Copilot) with safe guard rails.
• Implement UI features from Figma specs and monitor performance with Lighthouse or Dynatrace.
• Ensure security and accessibility across browsers and devices.
• Participate in cross-functional teams including cloud, security, SRE, and DevOps.
• Stay updated on trends and technologies in frontend development.
