Reddit is seeking a Software Engineer to help build the next version of our media web experience. You will define work on the technical components for video and audio delivery, focusing on the web media player and APIs that power it.

Qualificações

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (Go, Python, Rust, Ruby).
• Proficiency in modern web development technologies (JavaScript, React, Next.js, TypeScript) and experience translating complex UI/UX designs into scalable web applications.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, Thrift basics, and designing maintainable APIs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver projects on schedule.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Work cross-functionally with product, design and engineering to implement product features.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: design, development, testing, experimentation and launch.
• Design and implement end-to-end fullstack solutions for web media player UI (React, TypeScript) and backend APIs (Go, Python).
• Maintain speed and quality, review code and design docs, and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with client and platform engineers to improve media performance globally.
• Mentor junior engineers and help establish best practices across the team.
