Job summary

Target is seeking an Engineer on the FieldX team to design and deliver robust web components for our merchandising experiments platform. You’ll work on frontend and backend aspects, with emphasis on scalable, maintainable code and strong collaboration with product, analytics, and operations.

The ideal candidate has a foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, experience with React and Next.js, and comfort with Git-based workflows.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of software development experience.
• Familiar with current and emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of distributed programming concepts.
• Proficient in at least one programming language.
• Understands data structures in chosen language.
• Stays current with new technologies through training.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain well-structured code following designs and standards.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions.
• Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Assist in debugging, testing, and automation efforts.
• Troubleshoot issues using development tools and metrics.
• Participate in integration and regression testing and disaster recovery as needed.
