Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior frontend engineer to design, build, and scale a production-grade design system. You will create scalable web components, ensure high test coverage with Playwright, and bake accessibility and localization in from day one.

You will optimize performance, maintain design tokens, and guide architecture while mentoring engineers and collaborating with UX, product, and QA teams across time zones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• 2+ years building/designing systems at scale.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or related field.
• Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Components, TypeScript, Node/NPM.
• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Strong responsive design principles and testing coverage.
• Experience with i18n and accessibility at scale.
• Knowledge of monorepo tooling (Nx/Turborepo).
• Proven ability to collaborate across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale our design system with production-grade web components.
• Ensure near 100% test coverage using Playwright and modern testing frameworks.
• Bake in accessibility, theming, and localization from ground up.
• Optimize component performance and bundle size for production.
• Maintain design tokens to stay in sync with Figma specs.
• Review code and mentor engineers on design system best practices.
• Lead architectural decisions for components and patterns.
• Provide demos and documentation for components and usage.
