Job summary

Loftorbital is seeking a Frontend Engineer to refine the UI of Cockpit, our satellite operations software, and empower users with robust satellite management tools.

You will collaborate with the Frontend Engineering team and interface with the wider Software group, contributing to a range of projects including web apps and services, UI/UX improvements, and GraphQL integration.

Qualifications

• Proficient in TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Vue or React.
• Experience building SPAs.
• Experience consuming GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with unit and integration testing (Vitest, Jest, Cypress).
• Experience with Web Components.
• Experience with mapping/geospatial libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox, CesiumJS).
• Interest in space/aerospace; enthusiasm is a bonus.
• UI/UX sensibility; focus on user experience.

• Build and refine tools for satellite operations and observability.
• Develop and maintain Loft's web applications and services.

Job description

Frontend Engineer

As a Frontend Engineer at Loft, you will work on a range of projects, including refining the UI of Cockpit, our satellite operations software, and empowering end-users with powerful satellite management capabilities. You’ll collaborate with peers on the Frontend Engineering team, as well as interface with the wider Software team.

Responsibilities

• Building and refining tools for satellite operations and autopilot observability
• Developing and maintaining our web applications and services
• Collaborating on UI/UX design to enhance user experience (no need to be a designer, just care about good UX)
• Integrating with backend services using GraphQL APIs
• Supporting internal teams in using our ground software (Cockpit)
• Getting hands‑on with satellite operations—everyone at Loft plays a role in mission success!
• Tech stack:
  • Frontend: Vue.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • APIs: GraphQL
  • Bonus: Web Components (Lit)

Qualifications
