Job summary

Loft Orbital is seeking a Frontend Engineer to refine the Cockpit UI and empower satellite operators with powerful management capabilities. You will work with the Frontend team and interface with the broader Software group.

You’ll build tools for satellite operations, work on Loft web apps, and contribute to UI/UX. Strong TS/HTML/CSS, Vue/React, and GraphQL experience are required, with testing skills emphasized. Offices in SF, CO, and Toulouse support a global team.

Wanna join the adventure?
As a Frontend Engineer at Loft, you will work on a range of projects, including refining the UI of Cockpit, our satellite operations software, and empowering end-users with powerful satellite management capabilities. You'll collaborate with peers on the Frontend Engineering team, as well as interface with the wider Software team.

About this role:

• Building and refining tools for satellite operations and autopilot observability
• Developing and maintaining our web applications and services
• Collaborating on UI/UX design to enhance user experience (no need to be a designer, just care about good UX)
• Integrating with backend services using GraphQL APIs
• Supporting internal teams in using our ground software (Cockpit)
• Getting hands-on with satellite operations - everyone at Loft plays a role in mission success!
• Tech stack:
  • Frontend: Vue.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • APIs: GraphQL
  • Bonus: Web Components (Lit)

Must Haves:

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript / HTML / CSS
• Experience with Vue or React
• Experience working on SPAs
• Experience with GraphQL APIs
• Experience with Testing (Unit and integration testing (e.g., Vitest, Jest, Cypress)

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Web Components
• Experience with Mapping/Geospatial Libraries - e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, or CesiumJS (could be useful for visualizing satellite data)
• Interest in Space or Aerospace - No prior experience is required, but enthusiasm for space technology is a bonus!
• UI/UX sensibility (no need to be a designer, just to care about that)

State law requires us to tell you the base compensation range for this role, which is $140,000- $190,000 per year. This is determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we evaluate individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
