Job summary

Node & Vector in New York City is seeking a Frontend Engineer to join a well-funded retail trading platform. You will design, build, and maintain fast, accessible web interfaces and UI libraries, delivering sub-second interactions under pressure.

You'll work with real-time charts, REST APIs, and WebSocket streams, own CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate in-person with a small engineering team to ship high-quality software and equity-rich compensation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional frontend experience.
• Strong CSS and WAAPI experience.
• Experience writing tests (Jest, Vitest, Cypress, or similar).
• Comfort with in-person collaboration in a team setting.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

We are hiring a Frontend Engineer for a well-funded retail trading platform backed by top-tier VCs.

About the Opportunity

Our client is building a retail trading product that combines sub-second performance with an interface retail traders can navigate confidently under pressure. Small engineering team, high shipping cadence, deep commitment to craft.

What You Will Build and Solve

• Core Interfaces: Design, build, and maintain full-featured web applications and reusable UI libraries that stay fast, accessible, and scalable.
• Data Visualisation: Ship high-performance, interactive charts and real-time visualisations that help traders make informed decisions.
• Performance Engineering: Optimise application speed and reliability using advanced caching strategies, with sub-second load times as the baseline.
• System Architecture: Integrate complex REST APIs and WebSocket streams while managing robust client-side cached state.
• DevOps and Quality: Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, previews, testing, and clean rollbacks.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of professional experience building modern frontend applications in production.
• Strong design sensibility with a clear point of view on user interaction and how interfaces feel. Strong CSS and WAAPI experience.
• Experience writing maintainable test suites (Jest, Vitest, Cypress, or similar).
• Comfort operating in a collaborative, in-person engineering setting.
• Authorised to work in the United States. This role is not open to visa sponsorship.

Location

Compensation

$250K to $300K USD base salary plus meaningful equity.
