Job summary

Primer is seeking a frontend engineer to own projects end-to-end, spanning payment surfaces, checkout components, and merchant tools. You will shape architecture decisions, write clean, scalable UI, and drive performance and accessibility at scale.

We value independent delivery, strong TypeScript expertise, and the ability to lead incident resolution while mentoring peers across the Account Experience team. Location-flexible hybrid work is available across major cities.

Qualifications

• Solid frontend engineering experience delivering production-grade work across full lifecycle.
• Extensive experience with TypeScript; web components experience preferred.
• Ability to scope projects, plan architecture, and deliver independently.
• Strong understanding of accessible, performant, maintainable UI at scale.
• Ability to contribute to architecture discussions and clearly articulate trade-offs.
• Ability to write clean, well-tested, high-quality code.

Responsibilities

• Own frontend projects end-to-end, from scoping through production across payment surfaces, checkout components, and merchant-facing tools.
• Lead architectural decisions for frontend systems and produce RFCs/ADRs.
• Build composable, performant, and adaptable UI.
• Monitor production impact using metrics and dashboards; catch issues and own fixes.
• Maintain a high quality bar for code and raise quality concerns in the codebase.
• Lead incident response and drive issues to resolution, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Share knowledge and help improve the quality and confidence of other engineers.

Primer provides unified infrastructure for global payments, giving finance and payments teams visibility and control to reduce complexity, improve performance, and capture more revenue through a single platform. Its Account Experience team builds and owns the platform merchants use to interact with Primer, from initial setup through day-to-day operations, including Primer AI Companion.
