The Front Waiter / Server Assistant assists Captains in guest service steps and resets tables efficiently, professionally, and effectively. They interact politely and courteously with dining room/lounge guests, team members, and supervisors to ensure gracious hospitality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Anticipate and accommodate the needs of guests.
- Maintain the general cleanliness and orderliness of tables.
- Communicate guests' needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support staff, servers, managers, and chefs.
- Deliver, fill, and re-fill water as requested by guests and/or directed by servers.
- Clear and reset tables; clean table areas, including banquettes, during service.
- Help ensure guest satisfaction through active participation in service.
- Maintain cleanliness of stations and the entire revenue area.
- Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
- Set up floor and side stations, perform side work, and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including:
- Ensure tables and chairs/banquettes are clean and debris-free.
- Set tables with proper settings.
- Wipe down chairs, tables, and banquettes.
- Stock side stations with prescribed supplies.
- Perform opening and closing side work as prescribed.
- Participate in marking tables for upcoming courses when available.
- Report all breakage and damage immediately to management.
- Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings and departmental trainings.
- Learn by listening, observing team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
- Work as part of a team, providing help and support to fellow team members.
- Assist with or complete additional tasks as assigned.
