Job summary

Selby Jennings in New York City seeks an Execution Developer to join the front-office trading technology team, building execution algorithms and trading infrastructure.

You design and develop high-performance Java applications for electronic trading and create distributed systems that process market data with low latency.

Work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and other engineers throughout the SDLC to deliver reliable, scalable solutions in a fast-paced hedge fund.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Experience in hedge funds, multi-manager platforms, market making, prop trading or electronic trading environments.
• Experience building execution algorithms, electronic trading systems, or front-office trading applications.
• Strong understanding of concurrent, multi-threaded, and high-performance development.
• Ability to work with traders, portfolio managers and business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance execution trading algorithms used across the firm's platform.
• Design and develop high-performance Java applications supporting electronic trading workflows.
• Develop distributed systems that process large volumes of market and trading data.
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability and efficiency.
• Partner with traders, portfolio managers and engineering teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
