The Document Clerk will be responsible for prepping physical files of mortgage loan documents. This includes document deconstruction and reconstruction projects. The tasks can vary from labeling, taking out staples, confirming accuracy, and various administrative work. The volumes may vary depending on the request, project, or task assigned. There is potential for cross-training across departments but this role involves repetitive work and ability to meet daily deadlines. The ideal candidate has experience with basic Excel, great communication, work ethic, and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
The Research Clerk is part of the Customer Request Team and supports the Pending Release unit, which serves as the starting point of the collateral release process across all sites. This role works within a team of approximately 20 people and is responsible for monitoring shared email inboxes and intaking external requests from financial institutions to release loan and collateral files. The Research Clerk validates request forms and requester authorization, completes required system tasks, saves backups, and communicates across sites to ensure requests are routed correctly for processing. Daily volume averages around 20 emails per person, with processing times ranging from 5–10 minutes for simple, single‑loan requests to up to an hour for complex requests involving large batches or incomplete documentation. Strong attention to detail, professional written communication, and consistent customer service are essential to successfully filter requests and support downstream teams.
