The Friendly Toast is a unique all-day brunch and bar restaurant in Massachusetts seeking an engaging and motivated leader to oversee daily restaurant operations. You will manage staff, hire and schedule, and ensure high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with the executive chef to keep a scratch-made menu, uphold safety regulations, and foster an inclusive culture. This role offers growth opportunities and a supportive team environment.

• Hiring, training, and scheduling employees to ensure adequate coverage and optimal team performance
• Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Collaborating with the executive chef to develop and maintain a diverse, scratch-made menu that exceeds guest expectations
• Providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests and team members
• Evaluating employee performance, providing feedback, and implementing performance improvement plans as necessary

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing daily restaurant operations, including managing staff and ensuring high-quality customer service
• Hiring, training, and scheduling employees to ensure adequate coverage and optimal team performance
• Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Collaborating with the executive chef to develop and maintain a diverse, scratch-made menu that exceeds guest expectations
• Providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests and team members
• Evaluating employee performance, providing feedback, and implementing performance improvement plans as necessary

Qualifications:

• Experience in restaurant management, including experience in hiring, training, and supervising employees
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service and fostering a positive workplace culture
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience managing inventory and ordering supplies
• Passion for scratch-made food and commitment to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all guests and team members

Working Conditions

• Hours may vary as managers must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise.
• Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level, including delivery when needed.
• Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
• Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operating phones, computers, printers, and other office equipment.
