Job summary

Wasatch Labs in Utah is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure equipment reliability on a fast-paced cosmetics packaging line. You will perform preventive maintenance, rapid repairs, and smooth line changeovers with a focus on GMP, LOTO, and OSHA compliance.

You will mentor shift mechanics, coordinate with production and QA teams, manage spare parts and tools inventory, and uphold safety standards while minimizing downtime to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical trade certification or related degree is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance in a fast-paced process or packaging environment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting skills with basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Run preventive maintenance schedules and fix broken machines quickly.
  • Oversee line changeovers for different cosmetic batches.
  • Train, mentor, and guide daily tasks for shift mechanics and technicians.
  • Enforce GMP, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) safety protocols, and OSHA rules.
  • Coordinate with production and quality control teams to report equipment status.
  • Monitor spare parts, tools, and supplies to prevent delays during urgent repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a fast-paced process or packaging manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Soft Skills: Clear communication, leadership abilities, and basic computer skills (CMMS software, Microsoft Outlook/Excel).
